OIL CHANGE @ GREASEMONKEY

Had a flat tire three days later due to a blown air valve. I was driving east on 104th Street, waiting at the stop light at Huron Street when I realized that I had a flat. I mean there was no air in the tire. So I drove from the light on a rubber-coated tire rim to the AutoNation Hyundai right there on the corner. I drove into the west driveway before the receptionist who was on another errand saw me and I asked if they had machinists on site. She said they did. But getting service here was a bit bureaucratic. You'll note the statement reads in that middle section "Customer Declined to have a Multi-Point Inspection Performed." For a flat tire! Anyway, was glad to have it done. All they did was replace the air valve and put air in the tire. I went and got tires at Big O Tires down at 7500 N. Pecos. And so far, I absolutely love my Aspen Touring tires.

OIL CHANGE
Oil Change 2 at 152, 659 miles at Richard's Automotive in San Gabriel. 5 quarts of Castrol Oil. Mechanic told me that the grade of oil is not important. That what's important is to have fresh, clean oil in your engine often so that build up won't occur.
Also, my right brake light was out and I had that bulb replaced.

Front Rotor Resurfacing with new pads: $185.

NEW LIFETIME BATTERY
I had my battery stolen this morning while it was parked on the street overnight. The thieves actually were quite careful, making sure to leave the metal clamps on the battery tray so that I wouldn't find them scattered near my tire in the gutter. So I should be thankful.
Anyway, got a new battery. A Lifetime battery was stolen from my car at 1am on Thursday morning, May 1, 2014. It cost me $127.20. Score: THIEVES, 1; MIKE, 0. But it's early in the game.
