START DATE:  Monday, November 7, 2016.
DAY #1:  On Monday (11/7/16) I spent 8 hours in training with Mike Hobbs, the trainer.

DAY #2:  On Tuesday (11/8/16) I spent the day with Jon riding along on his route.

DAY #3:  On Wednesday (11/9/16) we returned to the classroom for Defensive Driver Training.

DAY #4:  On Thursday (11/10/16) was first day driving solo.

The $675 is for 8 weeks, 8 weeks from 11/10/16.

Jennifer sets weekend work schedules, so if you want to work weekends call her at 303-350-4190. The pay is 1.5% of regular commission.

Counting the Costs of Driving for QuickSilver Express Courier or QEC.

I.  Costs to Honda.

     c.  Oil Consumption.
     d.  Fuel.

II.  Costs on My Time.

III.  Opportunity Costs.

IV.  Write-off car insurance, depreciation, gas (which I've heard the IRS provides a $.58 allowance).  That's phenomenal.

Check with tax consultant on Monday, November 14, 2106.

Kelley Blue book explains what it costs to own your car over a 5-year period.

IRS calls it:  510, Business Use of Cars.

Here is a slightly different sheet from the IRS.  Don't know why they can't standardized their forms.  But oh well.

FUEL
11/11/2016:  United Pacific, 6521, 160 W. 104th, Northglenn:  $15.
11/14/2016:  Circle K, 10363 N. Federal Blvd.:  $26.40.
11/15/2016:  Circle K, 10363 N. Federal Blvd.:  $20.00.
11/16/2016:  $20.25.
So I am looking at $100 in gas a week just for this job.  The expenses that I've incurred before I see a single nickel are in the hundreds.
11/17/2016:
11/18/2016:  $25.00
11/21/2016:  $25.00
11/22/2016:  $25.00
11/23/2016:               Thursday, Thanksgiving
11/24/2016:  $30.00  Friday

PARKING GARAGE FEES
LAZ Parking, 1225 17th Street 80202
11/17/2016: $4.

Okay, the purported pay rate is $675/week.  Up to a $1000 if I get enough tickets.  But the tickets really are restricted by your 8 hours of a shift.  You can only do so many runs during 8 hours.  And when I asked about specifics on how the tickets are formulated, the answer I got was that they're all different.  Which they are.  But that gives me no information on how much I am getting paid.  Zero.

Then I begin to calculate my daily expenditures on gas.  It's about $25 in gas everyday that I have to shell out.  $25 x 5 days/week = $125.  Just in gas out of my pocket.  $125 x 4 = $500 out of pocket expense.  That's too much.

PAY
First 8 weeks we are guaranteed $675.  Does that $675 include that sign-on bonus of $250/per week?

Sign-on bonus is spread out over 6 weeks.

The original offer, the one presented in the Craigslist ad, stated $675-$1000 per week.  And as they guarantee $675/week for the first 8 weeks, that sounds to me like they're not allowing for allowances to earn more.  What does one have to do to earn more? Is it just tickets?  I can't imagine running more tickets than 9 in an 8-hour window.  So how, then, does one earn the $1000 they advertised?

Okay, after handing in my mileage log (dates: 11/10/16 to 11/17/16), Lorine Beal returned it to me with a few notes.  She did total my miles, 795.

One, she put an asterisk next to each of the four first-pickup odometer mark without indicating what the asterisk means.  She did leave a personal note,
Mike--come see me if you have questions.  You may include 25 miles if your first pick up or last drop is 25 miles or more from your home.  Otherwise, the IRS does not allow you to take it.
Okay.  This is valuable information.  I just wished that I could have gotten the details on this either during training or in the interview.  I am sure that they will tell me that "it was covered."

IJQ 450

On 12/11/2016, Priscilla text me at 7:12am, and I called her back at 8am.  Told her I needed a little time to get ready.  Was ready and online by 8:30am.  She explained that I was getting a "little bonus" for answering the morning call, "maybe not on this paycheck but on the next paycheck."  I will look for it.  As for hours, I only worked 6.5 hours.  And had only 7 tickets.  I need more tickets.

How does CS or Dispatch decide on who to give tickets to? I ask because on Monday, January 2, 2017 I didn't get a ticket until 4:45pm to Rose Medical and that turned out to be a No Load.  I was 10-19'd at 18:35.  Nice.  So they call me out for 1 No Load. Thanks, Priscilla.

Pay Day is last day of the month.
Looks like the reason income is guaranteed for 8 weeks   after the 8 weeks are up , QEC introduces another batch of drivers to whom they make guarantees to while you are given short shrift, meaning fewer or cheaper tickets.   I hope I am wrong.
