I tried the Franz and Stilko toilet paper filters but they never did clean the oil and oil, especially conventional oil, DOES "wear out". Now I use NAPA platinum filters and change the oil when it gets dirty on the theory that oil is the cheapest thing I can put into the engine: It's gone when it feels chalky; don't wait until then to change it. The only effective oil cleaning systems are aircraft and marine (turbine NOT piston engines) hydraulic and lubrication systems, and the only oil that never gets changed (whale oil content) but stays clean is the shaft bearing oil on ships and it is cleaned by a centrifugal oil cleaner, NOT a filter.

Try this.
