Driver's Side Window Motor Replaced

I had to purchase a new window motor for the driver's side window. Lucky Tires & Auto did the work.  It cost me $291.  That's a lot of money for a small motor, especially with today's technolocy that should be lower priced.

I didn't have the time to make an effort with this, so I hired out someone else to do the work.  But I should have priced the parts first. The motor from the mechanic cost me $100.  The same motor from Amazon costs $50.  Ouch!  Dorman 741-766 Honda Accord Front Driver Side Window Regulator with Motor.  The installation labor cost me $180.  Live and learn.  I should know already.  I've owned this 17 year car for 10 years now.

That's how things are done.  For installation, I should have just followed a YouTube video.

And that's it.

At Lucky Tire & Auto, Leif changed my oil changed at 228,855.  I think it cost me exactly $40, but unlike GreaseMonkey they did not try to upsell me on other services that were unnecessary.  In fact, they topped off the fluids and checked my transmission fluid and topped that off as well as checked the air filter and changed the oil filter.  $40 is the average price you pay out here in Denver.  I remember when Richard used to change my oil for $25 but he skimped on almost everything and before I left he was charging me $30.  At least I do get the confidence from Lucky Tire & Auto that they're doing a comprehensive job for one price.  That's worth peace of mind.

Battery Replacement, December 17, 2016

Back on December 17, 2016, I bought a 35 DLG, Duralast Gold Battery that cost me $121.99.  Autozone also charged me for a BT-1K battery kit or the little cotton ring that gets placed over the poles.  Cost of that little piece?  $3.49.
Ouch. That's a pretty standard price for batteries.  Least I think.

Brake Light Replacement

Brake light Replacement. As easy as I had thought.

The bulbs themselves come in pairs and they cost me $8.69 at Autozone on Federal.  The price at Amazon is about the same, ranging between $8 and $12.

This site offers a little more detail.
